2020 Jeep Cherokee vs Chevy Equinox

Searching for your next SUV but don't quite know where to start? We know that there are a lot of options out there that you can choose from, making it difficult to narrow down your search. We are here to help with that! We are focusing in on the 2020 Jeep Cherokee and the 2020 Chevy Equinox. The Cherokee makes it mark with a large list of standard and available technology, impressive standard safety features, true off-roading abilities, and even some new exterior colors to really make you stand out from the crowd. The Equinox works hard to keep up with additional standard safety features, a Redline Edition, a dropped diesel engine, and user-friendly infotainment. To find out which of these SUVs we recommend the most, continue reading down below.

2020 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

Do you need an SUV with all of the power you could ever need? Then you've come to the right place. The 2020 Cherokee comes with three different engines, all of them getting you the horsepower you desire. The base engine is a 2.4-liter inline-4, which can get you 171 pound-feet of torque and around 180 horsepower. Another option in this lineup is a 3.2-liter V6, which generates 239 pound-feet of torque and 271 horsepower. The final engine you're looking at is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, which can offer you 295 pound-feet of torque and around 170 horsepower. Throughout you can choose from either front- or all-wheel drive. No matter what you get a nine-speed automatic transmission.

2020 Chevy Equinox Power & Handling

Compared to the three engines that are offered with the Cherokee, only two engines come with the Equinox. The base engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder, which generates 203 pound-feet of torque and up to 170 horsepower. The other available engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, which can offer you around 260 pound-feet of torque and up to 252 horsepower. Front-wheel and all-wheel drive are both available, with a six-speed automatic transmission coming in as standard.
