Power is the name of the game when it comes to RAM, and it starts off its engine lineup with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft torque that comes standard with an eTorque system mild-hybrid electric-assist system. The system is designed to improve fuel economy and add a tad more acceleration and torque.  Optional is a 5.7-liter V8 engine that has 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The eTorque system is optional. All-new this year is a 3.0-liter diesel V6 that has a respectable 260 horsepower and an astonishing 480 lb-ft of torque. All of these engine pair with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission and either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. When adequately equipped, the RAM 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds.

RAM starts off its incredible trim lineup with the base level Tradesman. Standard features for this trim is a 23-gallon gas tank, active grille shutters, coil-spring suspension, trailer-sway control, and a rearview camera. You also get heated and power-adjustable side mirrors and 18-inch wheels, which rounds out the exterior features. Inside the cabin of the Tradesman, you'll find air conditioning, vinyl floors and seats, push-button start, cruise control, electronic parking brake, and a Uconnect with a five-inch touchscreen. Top-level trims with the V8 engine come with a 33-gallon fuel tank, active-level 4-corner air suspension, power-folding trailer-tow side mirrors, and a dual-pane moonroof. Other exterior features include deployable side steps, damped tailgate with a power release, 22-inch wheels, and dual exhaust tips. Higher-level trims align the interior with a top-of-the-line Uconnect touchscreen with either an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety is a top concern for RAM, which is why each version of the 1500 has a wide range of standard and available safety features. Standard on all versions of the RAM 1500 is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection. This system scans your blind spot zones beside and behind the pickup to help ensure trailer safety while you're changing lanes. Meanwhile, it also automatically senses and accounts for the length of the trailer. Available is a Lane Departure Warning-Plus system, which helps prevent unintentional lane drifts by giving you visual and audio cues while also guiding the RAM back into position. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go detects all vehicles ahead. If increased braking is needed in slower traffic, the available Forward Collision Warning with Advanced Brake Assist will automatically get you to a safe distance.
