For more than 60 years, the Scott family has been dedicated to serving customers throughout Michigan with integrity, hard work, and a commitment to exceptional service.
The story began in 1960 when Dick Scott started his automotive career as a new car salesman. After serving in the United States Marine Corps and advancing through dealership management, he fulfilled his dream of dealership ownership in 1974 with the purchase of Dick Scott Buick Pontiac GMC Truck in Albion, Michigan.
In 1979, Dick purchased a Buick dealership in Plymouth, Michigan, laying the foundation for what would become Dick Scott Automotive Group. Over the following decades, the organization expanded with the addition of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Kia, Nissan, pre-owned vehicle operations, rental car services, and powersports dealerships throughout southeast Michigan.
Growth was never simply about adding locations-it was about creating outstanding customer experiences and investing in the communities we serve. From the construction of new dealerships and state-of-the-art facilities to continuous improvements and renovations, Dick Scott believed in building businesses designed for long-term success.
Today, Dick Scott Automotive Group remains proudly family-owned and operated. All four of Dick Scott's children have played active roles in the business, continuing the family tradition of hands-on leadership and dedication to customers and employees alike. The second generation continues to lead the organization while preserving the values established by Dick Scott more than six decades ago.
