Interior Design of the 2023 Dodge Hornet
The design of the Hornet's interior offers the driver-centric, cockpit-like feel that Dodge is known to provide. The Hornet's design kicks off a new interior design era from Dodge, featuring all the features we know and love from Dodge alongside advanced technology and modern appointments. For example, Dodge has long provided a driver-centric driving experience in which the center stack is turned slightly to face the driver, giving them a more in-command feeling. New, however, is the Hornet's 12.3-inch fully digital gauge cluster behind the steering wheel. This frameless display screen shows you pertinent information about your vehicle and can be customized to show you your preferred information. Sitting on top of the center stack is a new 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen, packed with advanced features. Scanning your eyes down from the touchscreen, you'll first see physical climate controls, a push-to-start button, a leather-wrapped gear shifter, and drive-mode buttons.
2023 Dodge Hornet Exterior Design
A compact utility vehicle is essentially a bridge between a sedan and an SUV. While it sounds difficult to give a CUV a muscle car tone, Dodge was up to the task! With decades of experience making muscle cars, Dodge used that experience to make the Hornet look like a muscle car while providing space for drivers, passengers, and cargo. The muscle car's appearance begins at the front with a wide grille featuring the Dodge Rhombi symbol and a mail-slot opening, like the one found on the Charger. Slim headlight housings with LED daytime running lights are found on either side of the grille, giving it a bold glare. The hood vents provide both style and function as they look cool and keep the engine cool. Down the sides, you'll find a muscular yet elegant side profile with refined curves, sharp lines, and matte black lower cladding.
What Engines Does the 2023 Dodge Hornet Use?
The 2023 Dodge Hornet comes with two trim levels offering two different engines. The entry-level GT trim comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder engine that produces 265-plus horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque for a 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds, making it the most powerful gas-powered CUV on the market. The engine is mated to an all-wheel-drive system that is driven by an 8-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the R/T trim comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The R/T's PHEV setup consists of a turbocharged 1.3L I-4, a rear-axle-mounted 90 kWh electric motor, and a rechargeable EV battery pack. The PHEV power of the Hornet R/T gives it 285-plus horsepower, 383 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 time of 6.1-seconds that can be lowered by a full second using the PowerShot feature! The R/T trim employs a 6-speed automatic transmission to drive the electric all-wheel-drive system.
