Jeep Announces All-Electric Wagoneer and More

Learn More from Dick Scott CDJR!

In early September 2022, Jeep revealed its plans to achieve the goal of Zero Emissions Freedom by unveiling a handful of new all-electric Jeep vehicles! The Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S are designed to provide drivers with all-electric power, extensive driving ranges, and impressive performance. Please continue below to learn more about the Jeep Recon, Wagoneer S, and Jeep's plans to be a leader in the electric SUV segment!

Wagoneer S

Wagoneer, the premium extension of Jeep, has unveiled the first-ever Wagoneer S, pictured above! A battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Wagoneer S uses only electric power, marking the first all-electric vehicle from the luxury SUV brand. The Wagoneer S features a sleek aerodynamic design with a swooping roofline, a panoramic glass roof, a slim LED light spanning above the seven-slot grille, and a rear wing spoiler. The electric power of the Wagoneer S is targeting a 0-60 time of just 3.5 seconds with 600 horsepower and a driving range of up to 400 miles. Production of the Wagoneer S is set to begin in 2024 here in North America. However, customers can begin ordering in the early months of 2023.

Jeep Recon

The Jeep Recon is designed in the image of the legendary Wrangler. That's why Jeep gave the Recon a convertible top and removable doors. Not only is the Recon's design similar to the Wrangler, but it also offers the same rugged appearance and off-road chops as the Wrangler. What sets the Jeep Recon apart from any other all-electric SUV is its off-road capability. This capability comes from standard 4x4, underbody skid plates, e-locker axle technology, tow hooks, Selec-Terrain traction management, and all-terrain tires. All of this standard equipment and more earned the Recon Jeep's Trail Rated badge. As a testament to the Recon's off-roading capability and battery range, Jeep stated that it is capable of conquering the entirety of California's intimidating Rubicon trail and still have enough battery power to get back to town! Jeep has put the Recon in the same timeframe as the Wagoneer S, with ordering opening up in early 2023 and production beginning in 2024.

More Information About Jeep's Electric Future

There are a handful of reasons why Jeep is heading towards an electric future. Of course, electric power is the direction that the entire automotive industry is heading toward, and Jeep is always finding ways to stay ahead of the curve. Their pursuit of electric vehicles began with the 4xe powertrain, currently available for the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. Both the Grand Cherokee 4xe and Wrangler 4xe achieve superior performance, capability, and fuel efficiency with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a 400-volt rechargeable lithium-ion electric vehicle battery. Creating a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) was Jeep's first step to an electric vehicle future. We look forward to hearing more from Jeep about their future electrified vehicles!
