Michigan Jeep Badge of Honor Trails
Michigan Jeep Badge of Honor Trails
Earn Your Jeep Badge of Honor in Michigan!
Off-roading and Jeep vehicles just go together. For enthusiasts, off-roading is less of an activity and more of a lifestyle. Jeep understands this lifestyle better than anyone and strives to enhance that lifestyle for off-road enthusiasts. That's why the Jeep Badge of Honor program was created. Every time a Badge of Honor trail is completed, the driver will get a badge to display on their Jeep. Here at Dick Scott Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we want Jeep owners to get the Jeep experience fully. That's why we'd like to share information about Badge of Honor trails that Jeep owners can find right here in the great state of Michigan on this page!
Holly Oaks Trail
The first of Michigan's Badge of Honor trails is Holly Oaks Trail within the Holly Oaks Off-Road Vehicle Park on Drummond Island. Holly Oaks ORV Park is located in southeastern Michigan and caters to the varying skill levels of off-roaders ranging from easy to very challenging. The Holly Oaks Trail has a rating of 4 to 7, which is a moderate to demanding rating, and features a diverse range of terrain, including sand and gravel pits, steep hills, large boulders, and deep wooded trails. It is recommended for first-time visitors of Holly Oaks ORV Park to start on the park's Lower Loop trail to familiarize themselves with the park.
South Marblehead Trail
The second Jeep Badge of Honor trail found in Michigan is South Marblehead Trail. Also found on Drummond Island, South Marblehead Trail has a 3-7 trail rating, so, like the Holly Oaks Trail, it also teeters between moderate and demanding. The South Marblehead Trail features a mix of mud, rock, water, and breathtaking views. In the first half of the trail, you'll encounter some mild climbs, mud, and water. After going along the beach, the trail returns to the woods where you may encounter deep mud holes, which can require recovery gear, so winches are strongly recommended here.
Drummond Island
Found in Lake Huron, Drummond Island is home to both of Michigan's Badge of Honor trails. The Holly Oaks and South Marblehead trails are the only island trails recognized by the Jeep Badge of Honor program. Covering 134 square miles, it is the seventh-largest island in the world and the largest freshwater island in the United States. It is also home to the largest closed-looped off-road trail system in michigan, featuring over 40 miles of off-roading trails. Thanks to its position on Lake Huron, off-roaders are rewarded with breathtaking views of the lake and the island's vast natural beauty.Â
Other Off-Roading Opportunities in Michigan
Besides the aforementioned Badge of Honor trails, you can also find other off-roading opportunities here in Michigan. First, The Mounds Off-Road Park is the perfect off-roading destination for beginners and experts alike, featuring more than 9.5 miles of trails with varying terrain. The park is broken up into zones, with each zone offering a unique set of features, giving drivers the option to choose. Meanwhile, Bundy Hill Off-Road Recreation is spread out over 300 acres of land, offering a vast array of terrain such as mud, hill climbs, large boulders, and wooded terrain. Finally, Rocks and Valleys Off-Road Park offers enthusiasts a wide range of obstacles and terrains like deep mud, hill climbs, rock gardens, and more.
