Twisted Trails is a local favorite 40 miles south of Traverse City in Copemish. This park is a 100% dedicated off-road park with trails for every skill level and features a campground where you can spend the night. The great thing about Twisted Trails is that it is free to access, too. It's open from May to October.
Kalkaska Trail
The Kalkaska trail system is 90 miles of Jeep and ATV riding. Its location is near the AuSable River State Forest Campground. Most of the trails are sandy, with some rocks and roots, and it has rolling hills to make it as varied riding as possible in the area. There are multiple loop options, and you can ride for up to 150 miles!
Rocks and Valleys Off-Road Park
The Rocks and Valleys Off-Road Park is near Harrison and covers over 200 acres of muddy and rocky trails through hills and flats. Drivers and passengers will enjoy the incredible scenery and hone their skills. There is rustic camping available at the park for weekends too.
The Mounds
Open all year. The Mounds is a popular off-road vehicle park that allows everything except snowmobiles. Their scramble area is only open from March 15 to May 15, but outside that, you can enjoy 118 acres of land with all types of terrain for Jeeps, ATVs, trucks, and SUVs.
Bundy Hill Off-Road Park
Bundy Hill Off-Road Park offers 350 acres of off-road trail, where you can drive any ORV and bring the whole family. They are proudly alcohol-free and family friendly. The park is open from Wednesday to Sunday, offering everything from sandy dunes to hills, rocks, and rooty trails. Their online map has color-coded trails based on the type of terrain you'll encounter. You can also stay the night at one of their camping sites.
